MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported Thursday night that a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Southern Leyte at around 9:30 p.m.
The temblor’s epicenter was traced about 11 kilometers southwest of the municipality of Silago.
Phivolcs further stressed that the tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a two-kilometer depth of focus.
