MANILA — The newly-created House Special Committee on Flagship Programs and Projects, chaired by Rep. Carlos Cojuangco (1st District, Tarlac), has on Monday held its organizational meeting to tackle the status of the identified and approved 100 evolving infrastructure projects of the new Build, Build, Build Program of the Duterte administration.
Presidential Adviser for Flagship Programs and Projects Vivencio “Vince” Dizon presented before the committee the projects amounting to P4.4-trillion, with the aim of getting as many of these projects on the ground.
Some of the completed projects mentioned were the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10, Laguna Lake Highway, TPLEx – Pozurrubio, Bohol-Panglao International Airport, and the Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems for Air Traffic Management.
Among the on-going projects to be completed this year are the NAIA Terminal 2 Rehabilitation, Bicol International Airport, LRT-2 East Extension, Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, and Angat Water Transmission Improvement Project (AWTIP). Meanwhile, the MRT-3 Rehabilitation Program, MRT-7, the MRT- LRT Unified Grand Central Station are expected to be finished or be partially operable by 2021.
Lastly, the “Big Ticket” Legacy Projects of the Duterte administration include the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge, Bataan-Cavite Link Bridge, Metro Manila Subway, Mindanao Railway, Philippine Identification System and the Kaliwa Dam Project. (iam/sovereignph.com)
