MANILA – Aftershocks are possible from the magnitude 5.5 quake that jolted Davao Occidental early Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake of tectonic origin struck 187 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 3:13 a.m.
It had a depth of 130 kilometers.
The following instrumental intensities were recorded:
Intensity 2 in Tupi, South Cotabato; Alabel, and Malungon, Sarangani; and Intensity 1 in General Santos City; Kiamba, Sarangani; and Koronadal City.
Phivolcs is not expecting damage in infrastructure from the magnitude 5.5 quake. (iam/sovereignph.com/PNA)
