DAVAO CITY – A buy-bust operation on Saturday morning here resulted in the confiscation of PHP5.2 million worth of shabu, and the arrest of six individuals.
A team of police and anti-narcotics agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized about 330 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with an estimated value of PHP5.2 million, said Lt. Col. Ronald Lao, Talomo police station chief.
Lao said the drug-bust in Barangay Ulas is the second biggest operation they have done for this year.
Police identified the suspects as Saino Radiamuda Managa, Rohaina Damali Managa, Jeber Amer Managa, and Najirah Macalaba Mangcol, all from Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. Also arrested were Jerome Macalanggan Damali, and Rosana Perez Maquiring from Digos City, Davao del Sur.
Lao said the arresting team pounced on the suspects as soon as the poseur-buyer managed to purchased a large sachet of suspected shabu for PHP100,000 marked money.
The suspects also yielded five sachets of suspected shabu, cellphones, identification cards, and other pieces of evidence.
Police said the said suspects and the recovered evidence were turned over to PDEA-11 for proper disposition.
Lao said the suspects will be facing charges for violations of Section 11 and 12 of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2020. (PNA)
