MANILA – A social media group chat whose members call themselves as legit PH Covid-19 Health Workers, reported Wednesday that the Department of Health has confirmed 15 new COVID-19 cases.
The positive new cases of coronavirus infections, further bloated the national total to 202.
The group also quoted the DOH that three additional COVID-19 patients have died in the Philippines.
“This brings the total number of deceased to 17. Philippines’ COVID-19 cases at 193; 7 recoveries cited,” the group said.
President Duterte has already put the Philippines under a state of calamity as the government continues to find ways to contain the disease.
The World Health Organization has already labeled the disease a global pandemic after it killed nearly 8,000 and infected 197,000 others worldwide.
COVID-19 is most fatal for the elderly especially those with underlying medical condition.
However, 80 percent of COVID cases globally showed a high chance of recovery “without needing special treatment,” according to the WHO.
The WHO said COVID-19 symptoms include fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
