MANILA — The Department of Health has on Saturday recorded 77 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The biggest single-day confirmed cases raised the country’s tally to 307.

The DOH also reported that a 73-year-old woman from San Juan City died from the disease raising the number of fatalities to 19.

Relatives of the victim said, the fatality had no recent travel history or exposure to a COVID-19 patient.

On a bright note, five (5) more people had recovered from COVID-19. This brought the total of recoveries to 13.

Testing for the virus the health department will now be heightened as more laboratories were opening up.

Meanwhile, three (3) state hospitals were designated for COVID-19 patients as private facilities were getting overwhelmed with those diagnosed with the virus and those showing symptoms.
