MANILA – The social media is awash with speculations about the present health status of former senator Bongbong Marcos who recently travelled to Spain.
BM’s senator sister Imee Marcos told the media her brother “gets tested for COVID-19 after returning from Spain (feeling) unwell.’
Senator Imee Marcos confirmed this to reporters Thursday.
“He came back (from Spain) unwell. Finally got a test 2 nights ago, getting better at home,” she told reporters via text message.
Asked whether the test she was referring to on Bongbong was to determine whether he has coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the lady senator answered in the affirmative.
As this happens, speculations online that BM may have the virus scatter like wildfire with some of them saying the former senator, son and namesake of Ferdinand Marcos as to be presently confined in a hospital after returning from Spain “unwell.”
Some netizens went on to say that BM has allegedly tested positive for the disease.
“Wala pang result (No result yet). Mom (and I are) ok),” Imee Marcos said referring to former first lady Imelda Marcos.
Meanwhile, in a separate online report, BM claimed all members of his family tested negative of the virus including their house-help.
Together with Italy, Spain is also at the forefront in the battle against the coronavirus disease in Europe.
Spain experienced hundreds of deaths in just a 24-hour period, a figure second only to Italy which already surpassed Wuhan, China in fatalities. (ia/sovereignph.com)
