MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday opened its Kiangan Billeting Center (KBC) in Camp Crame, Quezon City for its quarantined personnel.
The KBC has 43 rooms with free board and lodging, free food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and other services such as free Wi-fi connection.
“This initiative is still part of the organization’s Biosafety Plan, helping our PUIs [patients under investigation] and PUMs [persons under monitoring] personnel to have a place where they can stay without worrying about the rent fee and their meal while in quarantine”, PNP spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said in a statement.
Latest data from the PNP Health Service showed a total of 145 PNP personnel (25 police commissioned officers (PCOs), 115 police non-commissioned officers (PNCO) and five non-uniformed personnel (NUP) were classified as PUIs while 1,416 PNP personnel (268 PCO, 1,086 PNCO and 62 NUP) are listed as PUMs.
Meanwhile, the PNP also formed a Medical Reserve Force (MRF) at its national headquarters to support its Covid-19 Operations Task Force.
The MRF consists of PNP uniformed personnel who specialized in medicine-related courses.
A total of 257 police personnel will augment the PNP Health Service as well as its General Hospital. (PNA)
