OLONGAPO CITY – Some PHP3.4 million worth of shabu were confiscated from four drug suspects in an anti-illegal drug operation by Olongapo City PNP and Northern Police District (NPD) here on Friday.
Lt. Col. Giovanni Hycenth Caliao, chief of the NPD District Special Operation Unit (DSOU), in coordination with Col. Benjamin Sembrano, city director of the Olongapo City Police Office, arrested the drug personalities identified as Jonalyn Igbus, Reuben Melencio, Niño Roble, and Jemylyn Colong.
The operation stemmed from the previous buy-bust of NPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit last April 9, 2020 on West Service Road, Barangay 161, Caloocan City that led to the confiscation of some 105 grams of shabu and the arrest of three drug suspects.
Seized during the operation were five medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu with an approximate weight of 502 grams with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million, two pieces of genuine PHP1,000 bill incorporated with 231 pieces of PHP1,000 boodle money utilized as buy-bust money, two cellular phones, among others.
The four suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Olongapo City Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination while criminal charges against them are being prepared for filing in court. (PNA)
