MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said six more police officers tested positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases in the police force to 65.

PNP Health Service Director Brig. Gen. Herminio Tadeo Jr. said the latest Covid-19 cases are four males, aged 29, 33, 36 and 47, and two females, aged 29, and 36, all assigned in Metro Manila.

Tadeo said a total of 501 police personnel were classified as suspected cases while 51 police officers were tagged as probable cases.

He said 40 PNP personnel have been admitted in patient care centers; 14 are under home quarantine, with 3 deaths and eight recovered from Covid-19.

It also recorded a total of 51 personnel who are categorized as Probable Persons Under Investigation (Probable PUIs) including 13 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs), 36 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) and two Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) while a total 501 personnel were recommended as Suspected Persons Under Investigation (Suspected PUIs) including 110 PCOs, 358 PNCOs, and 33 NUPs.

A total of 557 personnel which includes 173 Probable PUIs and 383 Suspected PUIs have completed self/home quarantine.

The patient care center in Camp Crame has already admitted 37 PNP personnel listed as PUIs and who undergo self-quarantine including 10 PCOs, 24 PNCOs, and 3 NUPs.

Meanwhile, Spring Hotel admitted a total of 103 personnel (13 PCOs, 70 PNCOs, 12 NUPs and eight civilian employees). (PNA)
