MANILA — The Department of Health listed 41 more recoveries of the coronavirus (COVID-19) bringing the total of persons who survived the killer disease to 654 as of 4p.m. Tuesday (21 April 2020).

New cases were confirmed to be at 140 taking the total number of cases in the archipelago to 6,599.

Fatalities meanwhile, were recorded at nine (9) patients to have succumbed to the disease for a total of 437 on deaths in the country.

The DOH said there are now 17 accredited testing centers across the country with 40 more additional laboratories awaiting accreditation.

Through the end of April, the DOH claims it would begin targeting 8,000 tests daily.

The DOH said nearly 60,000 tests have been carried out by the government since late January.

It was reported that the virus, which allegedly emerged in Wuhan, China late last year, has so far infected over 2.4 million people around the globe and killed 170,042.
