MANILA – Health front liners proudly announced on Thursday they successfully nursed back into life a 16-day old baby from the fangs of the deadly coronavirus disease.
The Department of Health claimed the 16-day old baby conquered COVID-19 at the National Children’s Hospital where healthcare workers “tirelessly took care of the neonate for 11 days and successfully nursed him back to health!”
The DOH lauded NCH’s “valiant healthcare team for this feat!”
“We at the DOH commits to provide the needed health commodities and personal protective equipment as our health facilities accept patients of various ages,” the DOH said on its Facebook page post.
As of Wednesday, recoveries in PH now totals 1,023 nationwide while confirmed COVID-19 cases stood at 8,212.
PH’s death toll also increased to 558, after 28 new fatalities surmised the DOH said.
Worldwide, the novel coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2 has already infected over 3.1 million individuals across the globe including more than 210,000 deaths.
Meanwhile, recoveries closed in on at the one million mark at 932,000. (ia/SovereignPH.com)
