MANILA – The Department of Health on Monday, 18 May 2020, reported a big number of new cases of the corona virus that all but eclipsed the count of recoveries.
Under DOH’s Case Bulletin #064, new admissions of COVID-19 patients arrived at 205, more than double of the 94 patients discharged, cleared from the virus that is keeping even first world countries on edge.
That 205 ably jacked up the overall count of PH’s infected individuals to 12,718 while the 94 brought the number of people who conquered the disease to 2,729.
Once again, the National Capital Region took the lead of new cases after registering 145 or 83% of the total number of cases for the day as Central Visayas (Region 7) kept it low at only eight (8).
Other areas checked in with an aggregate of 52 new patients or 16% share of the whole pie.
It was good note however, for the second straight day the DOH only logged in anew single-digit number of seven (7) fatalities although it is widely hoped for the stats in here grounds to zero.
Fatalities in PH is now pegged at 831.
