MANILA – The novel coronavirus knows no bounds and could hit anyone even healthy and energetic personages like Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.
The bubbly public servant of progressive province of Batangas announced on radio on Sunday, August 2, and confirmed that he contracted Covid-19.
The vice governor says he is asymptomatic with the disease but he has already coordinated with authorities for contact tracing.
“Wala po akong nararamdaman na sintomas ng COVID-19 o anumang sakit. Fortunately, I have no co-morbidities,” Leviste said.
Leviste added that he is bravely facing the latest challenge on his life and health and is not letting fear engulf him.
“I would like to assure everyone that I can manage this,” Leviste said.
Leviste further said he is now taking a number of supplements such as zinc and vitamins to help his body fight the virus.
“Sa mga nakasalamuha ko nitong mga nakaraang araw, ‘wag po kayong mag-atubiling makipag-ugnayan sa akin,” he said with an air of confidence on radio.
During the radio interview, Leviste claimed he isolated himself away from his family since he underwent swab test on July 28 together with two household helpers.
The swab test results, which were released on Saturday yielded positive for the vice governor.
His two household helpers, however, tested negative.
