“Binibigyan ko sila ng timeline para gumawa ‘yang mga hakbang na ‘yan na walang delay at i-cut ‘yung red tape para mabilis ang takbo ng tulong sa tao. Sa madaling sabi, gusto ‘yung task force na magbigay kaagad ng relief assistance sa affected — kayong mga tao (I gave a timeline so they can take steps without delay, and to cut red tape so assistance to the people will reach the people faster. In short, the task force wants to provide relief assistance to those affected — the people),” he said.
The President also assured that help is on the way even as he said that assets of government such as personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have already been deployed and conducting round the clock search and rescue operation in areas submerged by Typhoon “Ulysses.”
He also said the government is ready to deploy other government air assets once they are given orders to fly.
Two areas – Marikina City and Cagayan province – have already been placed under a state of calamity due to the destruction and flooding caused by Ulysses. The heavy rains from Typhoon, the release of water from Magat Dam, and the heavy siltation in the Region 2’s waterways caused widespread floods in the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela.
