With no typhoon threatening the country over the weekend, parts of the country will have light rains on Saturday, with the northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon.

In its daily morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Ilocos, the Cordillera, and the rest of the Cagayan Valley regions will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Batanes will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the tail-end of the Cold Front.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Vamco (formerly Ulysses) was last estimated at 835 km. west of Central Luzon and headed west at 20 kph, going further away from the Philippine area of responsibility.

Moderate to strong winds headed northeast will blow over northern Luzon, resulting in moderate to rough coastal waters, as light to moderate winds headed northeast to east will blow over the Visayas, Mindanao, and the rest of Luzon, resulting in slight to moderate coastal waters.The temperature in Metro Manila is expected to be at 25°C to 33°C; Tagaytay City, 22°C to 30°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 32°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 23°C to 32°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 34°C.
