The House of Representatives reshuffled key leadership posts on Wednesday night with three new deputy speakers elected to replace the allies of former House speak Alan Peter Cayetano,

Through a motion initiated by Deputy Majority Leader Xavier Jesus Romualdo, the House approved the election of Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, Buhay Partylist Rep. Lito Atienza, and Las Piñas City Rep. Camille Villar as deputy speakers.

Based on the term-sharing agreement between House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and Cayetano, there will be no change in the key positions in the House of Representatives after Velasco takes over the chamber’s leadership.

They replaced Cayetano allies Capiz 2nd District Rep. Fredenil Castro, Laguna 1st District Rep. Dan Fernandez, and Batangas 2nd District Rep. Raneo Abu

Furthermore, Kabayan Partylist Rep. Ron Salo was replaced by Caloocan 1st District Rep. Dale Malapitan as head of the House contingent to the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET).

The House also elected Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo as chairman of the Committee on Energy; Caloocan City 1st District Rep. Dale “Along” Malapitan as head of the House contingent to the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal; and ACT-CIS Rep. Eric Go Yap as vice-chair of the Committee on Accounts.
