The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday announced that more UV Express (UVE) units in Metro Manila and provincial buses from Davao City will resume their operations beginning November 23 or Monday.

In an advisory, the LTFRB said there will be six new UVE routes plied by a total of 429 UVE units.

These routes are C65 Calumpit (Bulacan) to CIT (Quezon Avenue; C66 Cogeo – Cubao via Marcos Highway; C67 Cubao to Padilla via Ermin Garcia, Marcos Highway; C68 Robinson’s Cainta to  Edsa Central; C69 Alabang – Imus Toll Bridge; and N55 SM North EDSA to SM Fairview.

Alinsunod ito sa Memorandum Circular (MC) 2020-074 na ipinasa ng LTFRB kahaponika-19 ng Nobyembre 2020 (This is following MC 2020-074 passed by the LTFRB yesterday, 19th of November 2020),” the LTFRB said.

It also approved the return to operation of 20 provincial buses in the two Davao City routes: Davao City to Tacloban City, and Davao City to Ormoc City, which is under MC 2020-075.

Both these UVE units and provincial buses, it said, must be “roadworthy,” have valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or an Application for Extension of Validity, and registered with a Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.

Instead of a special permit, it said the operators of these public utility vehicles (PUV) must secure a QR code from the LTFRB’s website and have it posted on the vehicle.

Muling pinapaalala ng ahensya na walang ipatutupad na taas-pasahe sa mga naturang UV Express at PUB, maliban na lang kung ipag-uutos ito ng LTFRB (We are reiterating that there is no fare hike allowed for these UVE and provincial buses unless ordered by the LTFRB),” the LTFRB said.It also reminded both PUV drivers, conductors, and passengers of the “7 Commandments” for public transportation during the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic: always wear face masks and face shields; no talking; no eating; maintaining adequate ventilation of the PUV; regular disinfection; barring passengers with Covid-19 symptoms; and maintaining a “one-seat-apart” distancing at all times. SOVEREIGNPH
