Two individuals believed to be leaders of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested in a raid conducted by state security forces in Malaybalay, Bukidnon on Saturday night.
Bukidnon provincial police director Col. Roel Lami-ing said arrested were Lorna Micabalo, 65, and Jean Montemayor, 20. The latter was found to be in possession of improvised explosives while Micabalo has numerous outstanding arrest warrants.
Micabalo is known by the aliases “Lorna Prisco,” “Sarah,” “Lorna Songahid,” “Yanda,” among others. She is the secretary of the North-Central Mindanao Regional Committee’s (NCMRC) Sub-Regional Committee 4. Montemayor, meanwhile, is secretary of Guerrilla Front 68B.
They were arrested by joint police and military intelligence personnel in Intelligence Coordinating Agency, carried out the operation in Purok 1, Brgy. Kalasungay in Bukidnon at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Micabalo has standing arrest warrants for kidnapping and serious illegal detention, rebellion, robbery with homicide and frustrated homicide, frustrated murder, robbery, attempted murder and murder. SOVEREIGNPH
