The Department of Health (DOH) will begin answering questions about the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine through a massive community information drive starting in the first week of January 2021.
“By the third week of December, we will start our rounds of government official meetings so we can have initial talk with them. By the first week of January, we will do community mobilization,” DOH USec Rosario Vergeire said in the DOH Media Briefing on Friday.
Vergeire added that the department will regularly answer questions and provide updates regarding the Covid-19 vaccine along with the conduct of the community engagement activities.
The DOH, together with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), has created a communications plan for the Covid-19 vaccine to disseminate the information strategically to the communities and far-flung areas.
The DOH will schedule initial meetings with government officials to explain the deployment plan for the Covid-19 vaccines.
“ We will explain their specific roles, at what could be expected from them when we start the deployment of vaccines,” Vergeire said. SOVEREIGNPH
