The quest for justice continues even if Los Baños Mayor Caesar Perez was laid to his final resting place on Saturday, with his family offering at least P1 million for information that will lead to the arrest of his killers.
Perez’s youngest son, Aldous, said on Saturday a huge sum of money awaits those who can tell the whereabouts of the one who killed his father.
“This is now pegged at over P1 million, and it continues to increase,” Aldous added in Filipino.
“What we want is that we will only bring out the reward money if there will be someone who will be sued and sentenced about this. That is what we want to clarify,” Aldous said in Filipino.
Meanwhile, he is surprised but at the same glad that even the smallest of sectors have done their help in funding the reward money.
“I am glad that the farmers connived for help. They gave P5 or P10 just for them to get enough funds,” Aldous said.
Meanwhile, he said his family is awaiting the results of the investigations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), although he noted that there exist some leads about what really happened on the fateful night of December 3.
Aldous said he is also still seeking clarification from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on why his father remains on its so-called “narcolist”.
Montallana, PDEA director for Calabarzon (Region 4A), said Mayor Perez is still on the agency’s narcolist but is now considered an “inactive” case following his death. SOVEREIGNPH
