Senator Manny Pacquiao, known for his imperfect English, slammed on Sunday “pretentious genius” leaders who try to speak good English just to impress the public.
There are a lot them who pretend to be wise. What we can call them is pretentious genius leader, but there are a lot of poor people),” Pacquiao said in recent interview.
I would be a useless politician if I do nothing. If I become like traditional politicians, it’s useless. What I want for as long as I am a politician is to uplift the well being of the poor, because I was once one of them),” he said.
Sorry, emotional lang ako ha (I don’t know what is in our minds. Do we have brains or not? Sorry, I am just emotional),” Pacquiao added.
The senator suddenly made the remarks amid his discussions on the many unsolved problems of the country such as the lack of funding to support next year’s P4.5-trillion budget for 2021.
Pacquiao said the government only has P3 billion in income next year to fund next year’s budget. SOVEREIGNPH
