The proposed P4.5-trillion national budget for 2021 will be signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on December 28, or three days before the current year ends, Malacañang said on Tuesday.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the signing ceremonies will take place in Davao City, Duterte’s hometown, in the presence of 10 lawmakers.
“Kahapon po nilinaw, (December) 28 ang pirmahan. ‘Yan po ay gagawin sa Davao. Meron pong limang taga-Kamara de Representante and limang taga Senado na dadalo doon sa signing of budget (It was made clear yesterday that the proposed 2021 budget will be signed on December 28 and that will be done in Davao. Five members from the Senate and another five from the House of Representatives will be present during the signing ceremony),” he said.
President Duterte earlier said on Tuesday he will spend Christmas with his family in his official residence in Davao City.
It is the fifth time Duterte will celebrate Christmas in Davao City since he became president in 2016.
The proposed P4.5-trillion budget contains an allocation of P72.3 billion for the purchase of vaccines for the coronavirus disease 2019. SOVEREIGNPH
