Hackers seem to getting more vicious nowadays as the credit card of a senator was hacked and used to purchase online P1 million worth of food in approximately an hour.

The victim, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, even made a humorous comment but was not obviously amused.

”My credit card has just been hacked! May nag order ng P1M worth of food sa Food Panda in less than an hour. Ano yan lauriat para sa buong barangay (Is that for a lauriat for a whole barangay)???,” he said in a tweet.

In one of his replies to comments, Gatchalian said: “The hacker managed to change my registered phone number so he got the OTPs (one-time PIN). He knew what he was doing. I just don’t know how he will eat a million worth of food.”

In a photo he posted over Twitter, it can be clearly seen that the hacker made a rush to order P1 million worth of food, or from 4:47 pm to 5:49 pm on Tuesday.

The estimated value of the transactions are: first, more than P96,000; second, more than P323,000; third, more than P356,000; and fourth, more than P300,000. SOVEREIGNPH
