President Rodrigo Duterte said that his daughter is not running for president in the 2022 polls.
In his speech during the inauguration of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 on Thursday, Duterte said Davao City Mayor Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio is not running for president and he had also cautioned his daughter on seeking the highest post in the country.
“My daughter, inuudyok man nila. Sabi ko, my daughter, is not running. I have told Inday not to run because naaawa ako sa dadaanan nya na dinaanan ko (they are urging her to run, but my daughter is not running. I have told Inday not to run because I will pity her on what she will have to experience as president that I have experienced myself),” he added.
Duterte even said the presidency is not for a woman.
“Hindi ito pambabae. Alam mo, the emotional set-up of a woman and a man is totally different. Maging gago ka dito. That is the sad story (The presidency is not for a woman. You know, the the emotional set-up of a woman and a man is totally different. Your mind will go haywire from being president. That is the sad story),” he added.
