Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Saturday lauded the contributions of Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chairperson Dante Jimenez to the Duterte government’s successful fight against criminality and corruption.

Andanar issued the statement, as he joined his fellow government officials in mourning the death of Jimenez.

“PACC Chairman Jimenez’ conviction and dedication in fighting criminality and corruption in the country have been outstanding, apparent, and instrumental in the Duterte administration’s management and enforcement of our anti-corruption and anti-illegal drugs campaigns,” Andanar said in a press statement.

Jimenez, 68, died of aortic aneurysm on Friday night.

Andanar said the country lost a public servant whose dedication to stop corrupt activities in government is exemplary.

“He will be missed by those in the government and civil society. His death is a loss in our crusade against crime and corruption,” he said.

Apart from leading the PACC, Jimenez also co-chaired the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs under President Rodrigo Duterte’s watch.

Andanar hoped Jimenez’s successor would emulate the latter’s strong resolve to fight criminality and corruption.

“May his deep commitment to uphold social justice, accountability, and transparency in governance inspire everyone, especially the people who will succeed him in his posts, for the welfare and progress of our nation,” he said.

Andanar also extended sympathies and condolences to the family of Jimenez.

“We pray for the eternal repose of his soul, and for his family and loved ones to find strength in this time of grief,” Andanar said.SOVEREIGNPH
