The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is preparing its own list of priority beneficiaries that will be covered under the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program of the government.
Malacañang previously announced the inclusion of beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as among the priorities to get the Covid-19 vaccine once it becomes available in the country.
DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista assured that they continue to implement the regular programs of the agency while preparing for the immunization of the initial beneficiaries.
“We continue to provide assitance through the regular programs of the DSWD that are greatly helping especially now that we are still in the middle of the pandemic,” he said during the Network Briefing News on Monday with host Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar.
“We are also preparing since we are a part of the National Task Force program for the vaccine. We were given the task and we are now gathering data that we will submit to the Task Force to serve as basis on who will be given the priority for the vaccination,” he added.
The initial doses of vaccines are anticipated to be delivered to the Philippines this February. SOVEREIGNPH
