The Sandiganbayan First Division has convicted Janet Lim Napoles and former Cagayan de Oro Rep. Constantino Jaraula of three counts each of graft and malversation involving P28.8 million worth of pork barrel funds, also known as Priority Development Allocation Fund (PDAF).
In a decision released on Friday, the anti-graft court sentenced Napoles, known as the pork barrel queen, and Jaraula from 36 to 108 years imprisonment, with Jaraula also judged guilty of three counts of direct bribery.
Also found guilty were Maria Rosalinda Lacsamana, Belina Concepcion and Mylene Encarnacion.
Napoles, who is believed to have masterminded the infamous P100-billion pork barrel scam, is currently detained at the Correctional Institute for Women for her earlier conviction of plunder for embezzling P224 worth of the PDAF of Senator Bong Revilla.
She also has pending trials for plunder over her alleged role in the PDAF scams of former Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada.
For his part, Jaraula allegedly received P50.5 million of PDAF from 2004 to 2007 from fake projects under Napoles’ bogus foundation.
The Sandiganbayan decision was written by the same judicial panel of Associate Justices Edgardo Caldona,Efren dela Cruz and Geraldine Faith Econg that acquitted Revilla from plunder. SOVEREIGNPH
