With more than a year before leaving office, President Rodrigo Duterte made renewed warning to public officials, ordering them to obey the law and to stay away from corruption if they want to remain in their posts.
“Ngayon, kayong mga ano, you know, madali na lang ako. But ‘pag nagkamali kayo maski kaunti ngayon, iwasan ninyo magkamali (Now, all of you, you know, I am easy to deal with.But if you commit a mistake even for a small amount, avoid committing crimes),” said President Duterte during his weekly public address on government response on the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
“If you value your work, if you want to stay in government, iwasan ninyo (avoid corruption),” he warned.
Also, during his address, Duterte disclosed the names of government personnel who were either removed from service or were suspended.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel implicated for committing prohibited acts were Ramiro M. Cruz, District Engineer, Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office; Armando R. Juan, Project Engineer; and Alfredo Hernandez, Chief Construction Section, Bulacan District Engineer’s Office.
