Two were killed and four others were injured after a 6×6 truck of the Philippine Army lost control and plowed onto a car, two pickup trucks, two motorcycles and two houses at past 1 p.m. on Sunday in Sitio Canduang, Barangay Damolog in Sogod town in northern Cebu.
Police Staff Sergeant Avito Mansing Jr., of the Sogod Police Station said that those who died were from the last motorcycle that the truck hit.
Mansing also said that those injured included one of the motorcycle drivers and one occupant each from the two houses that the truck plowed onto.
Initial probe by the police showed the Army truck driven by Private First Class (PFC) Gary Betonio Pagalong of the Philippine Army lost control while going through a blind curve and a downhill portion of the road. The truck was heading to Cebu City from Borbon town in northern Cebu.
“The Army truck crashed into two houses located at the side of the road that resulted in the injury of two persons there. A total of four people were injured from the accident, and the two who died were the driver and rider of a motorcycle,” Mansing said in the vernacular. SOVEREIGNPH
