CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur-Scarce with fighters who are now surrendering to the government, the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) is limping, left with no other choice but hide their remaining firearms.

Colonel Almase presents to MajGen Robinson firearms recovered from surrenderees and through security operations prompted by ordinary citizens telling on the whereabouts of enemy stockpiles.

In Palanas, Masbate, however, concerned citizens blew the whistle on armaments being kept by the communist NPA terrorists in the hinterlands of Barangay San Isidro.

This prompted the elements of 2nd Infantry Battalion (2IB) to conduct a raid capturing of one caliber .38 revolver, three (3) laptops, and terroristic propaganda materials and six sacks of voluminous documents.

Lt. Col. Siegfried Felipe Awichen, Battalion Commander of 2IB once again expressed his gratitude to the local residents for giving them timely information significant to the success of the unit’s operations.

Col. Aldwine Almase, Brigade Commander of the 903rd Infantry Brigade, affirmed the defeat of the communist terrorists in Masbate, saying Masbateños äre sick and tired of the desperate, treacherous acts of the communist NPA terrorists, referring to an incident last May 1 when two civilians were killed while five were injured in a roadside explosion in Uson and last April 23 when a government employee was a hurt in another bombing incident in Milagros town.

“Gone are the days when they can still threaten the public with their terrorism. Mas lalo lamang nilang pinag-aalab ang pagnanais ng mga Masbateño na tuluyan ng matuldukan ang panlilinlang at karahasan ng teroristang grupong ito,” Col. Almase said.

Major General Henry Robinson, commander of Joint Task Force Bicolandia (JTFB) commended the 2IB for sustaining the gains of the government in the island province.

Noong Mayo 4 may mga sumuko sa Masbate, ngayon naman may nasamsam tayong armas at mga essential equipment and materials ng mga teroristang komunista. The extensive operations and effective interoperability of our unit and the PNP in the province along with the collaborative efforts of other government agencies, LGUs and the support from the people are the reasons behind these scores,” said Robinson .
