Two earthquakes both having a magnitude of at least 5 hit parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Sunday but no major damage was reported.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), a 5.6 magnitude earthquake rocked Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental at 10 a.m. with the epicenter located 235 kilometers southeast.
Meanwhile, 5.0 magnitude tremor shook San Antonio in Zambales at 12:41 p.m. with the epicenter 92 kilometers west of the town.
Phivolcs said the earthquake that shook Jose Abad Santos was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 128 kilometers. Meanwhile, the tremor that rocked San Antonio was also tectonic in origin and had a depth of 19 kilometers.The agency did not say if both quakes were related. SOVEREIGNPH
