CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur-Reliving the spirit of bayanihan as it always does the Joint Task Force (JTF) Bicolandia initiated a blood donation campaign at the headquarters of 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division to help the patients of the fire-hit Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
Partnering with the Bicol Medical Center (BMC) Blood Bank and Transfusion Services, the Camp Elias Angeles Station Hospital (CEASH) collected a total of 39,150cc of blood from 87 successful donors, all of them soldiers last May 22.
The said blood bags will be delivered to the PGH’s Blood Bank which was affected by the fire incident last Sunday.
Also acting on social responsibility, MajGen Henry Robinson Jr. PA, commander of JTF Bicolandia is hopeful that the activity will be able to help the state-owned hospital, especially now that their blood bank is affected by the recent fire incident.
“As soldiers, it is our sworn duty to extend a hand to the needy and this bloodletting event is our own little way to reach out for our fellow Filipinos, especially the patients of PGH who need blood transfusion.
“Nananawagan din tayo sa iba pang mga ahensya ng gobyerno at sa ating mga stakeholders na magkaisa para tulungan ang mga pasyente ng PGH.
“May we see this situation as an opportunity to relive and spread the spirit of bayanihan,” MGen. Robinson said.
