The brutal killing of a British-Filipina in Greece was perpetrated by no other than his husband who had confessed to the crime.
The Athens police headquarters said tht Babis Anagnostopoulos confessed to murdering his 20-year-old British wife at the home they shared with their young daughter after previously claiming she was killed during a robbery.
About a month ago, it was reported Caroline was killed in front of her 11-month old daughter by three suspects who broke into the couple’s home.
“The homicide of a 20-year-old woman in Glyka Nera on May 11 has been solved. The perpetrator is her 33-year-old husband, who has confessed his actions,” the Greek police said in a statement.
Anagnostopoulos earlier that three men broke into their house in the Athens suburb, and claimed that after killing their dog, the men tied him to a chair and strangled Crouch to death in front of their child, who was unharmed.
He also said he pleaded to the suspects not to harm his family and to just get the jewelry and cash hidden in a box in their home.
Anagnostopoulos claimed he was able to raise the alarm by using his nose to dial the number of the police.
“The tape was across his mouth but he managed to make himself understood,” a police spokesperson told a national daily.
But the police remained suspicious.On Thursday, Anagnostopoulos was summoned by the Athens police headquarters to answer questions as to why his phone had activity at the time he claimed to be tied up. He eventually confessed to the crime. SOVEREIGNPH
