The Department of Education (DepEd) announced Friday that President Rodrigo Duterte has approved September 13, 2021 as the opening date for School Year 2021-2022.
In a statement, the DepEd said the date was among the options recommended by DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones.
“We thank the President for his full support to the delivery of quality basic education for the incoming school year,” the statement read.
The school calendar for SY 2021-2022 will be released soon.
“We hope for our stakeholders’ continued cooperation and support as we prepare for another challenging yet worthwhile endeavor of educating our children amid a global health crisis,” the statement read.
Since the pandemic last year, schools have adopted a blended learning approach.
Resumption of limited face-to-face classes in areas considered as “low-risk” is still postponed.
Despite the challenges, Briones assured the public that classes would continue and no learner will be left behind.
