The main difficulty now of communist terrorist groups (CTG) is that the people are now whistleblowing their locations.
Government troops conducting pursuit operations following the armed encounter in Bulan, Sorsogon last July 31 clashed anew with CTGs in a nearby Barangay of Padre Diaz, Tuesday, August 3.
Residents in the area tipped off the location of the fleeing terrorists prompting the combined elements of 22nd Infantry Battalion (22IB) under Lt. Col. Nelson Mico, 93rd Division Reconnaissance Company (93DRC) under the operational control of 903rd Infantry Brigade headed by Col. Aldwine Almase and PNP to trace them around 8:50 in the morning.
After the fierce gunfight, the enemies scampered towards different directions, leaving their Molotov bombs, four magazines loaded with ammunition for M14 rifle and bandolier at the encounter site.
MajGen Henry Robinson Jr. PA, Commander of Joint Task Force Bicolandia ordered a relentless pursuit, hunting down the communist insurgents and protecting the residents from harassment and payment of so-called revolutionary taxes.
“No less than The President has assured na kung gugustuhin Ninyo, makapagbagong buhay kayo ng matiwasay.”
It can be recalled that a communist NPA terrorist was killed in the recent encounter in Barangay San Juan Daan and an M14 rifle and anti-personnel mines were also seized by the operating troops. SOVEREIGNPH/AQP
