The number of new Covid-19 cases reached another record in the last four months on Friday, or 13,177.

The Department of Health (DOH) logged more than 12,000 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, another 4,322 persons recovered from Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 1.587 million.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH said this is equivalent to a 92.6 percent recovery rate out of a total of 1.713 million infections since the beginning of the pandemic last year.

The additional 13,177 new infections brought the number of active cases to 96,395 or 5.6 percent of all cases in the country.

Of these active cases, the majority at 95.8 percent have shown mild symptoms, followed by those with severe symptoms at 1.4 percent, the asymptomatic at one percent, those with moderate symptoms at 0.97 percent, and those in critical condition at 0.8 percent.

There were 299 new deaths reported, with the country’s total mortalities now at 29,838 or 1.74 percent of all Covid-19 infections.

Based on the latest data on Covid-19 testing collected on Aug. 11, it said there were 57,355 individuals tested with 23.6 percent found to be infected.

Many health facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR) remain available, with 1,200 beds of intensive care units (ICU) at 60 percent occupancy, 4,700 isolation beds at 60 percent occupancy, 3,900 ward beds at 61 percent occupancy, and 1,100 ventilators at 54 percent utilization.

For the entire country, there are 4,000 ICU beds at 66 percent occupancy, 20,100 isolation beds at 58 percent occupancy, 13,300 ward beds at 60 percent occupancy, and 3,000 ventilators at 51 percent utilization.
