Calatagan in Batangas was shaken by a Magnitude 5.7 earthquake at around 11:08 p.m. on Friday and felt in Pasig and Quezon City in Metro Manila.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the latest quake in the area was an aftershock of the earthquake that also hit in Calatagan on July 24, 2021.
“This is an aftershock of the July 24, 2021 M (Magnitude) 6.6 Calatagan, Batangas earthquake,” Phivolcs added.
The agency said that the latest earthquake had a depth of 113 kilometers with its location at 15 kilometers southwest of Calatagan.
Phivolcs also recorded the following intensities in the following areas:
Intensity IV – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; and Intensity III – Pasig City; Quezon City; Obando, Bulacan.
