Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has complained of loss of smell and taste he tested positive for Covid-19, according to Sta. Ana Hospital Director Dr. Grace Padilla.
However, Domagoso’s appetite remains good, he has minimal body pains, and his vital signs are stable, a medical bulletin stated.
Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan was discharged from the same hospital on Thursday. She tested positive on Aug. 8.
Manila has seen an increase in Covid-19 cases in the past weeks, or from 922 active cases on Aug. 6, the first day of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), to 1,707 on Friday at the end of the two-week imposition of the most restrictive classification in the National Capital Region (NCR).
On Friday, Manila also reported 249 new Covid-19 cases and 289 new recoveries.
The city’s six district hospitals have a 61-percent occupancy rate while the Covid-19 Field Hospital at the Quirino Grandstand is 89-percent occupied.
NCR will downgrade to MECQ from Aug. 21 to 31.
