THE Partido Reporma has dismissed reports that its presidential candidate for 2022, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, has plans to withdraw from the race for the highest position in the land.
Lacson, chairman of Partido Reporma, will have Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd as his running mate for 2022. Both declared their intention to run for 2022 last September 8.
The party warned of “an ongoing misinformation campaign claiming allegedly that Sen. Panfilo Lacson has or is withdrawing his candidacy for president in the May 2022 election. Nothing could be further from the truth,” Ashley Acedillo, Partido Reporma spokesperson, said.
“On the contrary, the Lacson-Sotto tandem has been full speed ahead and has only been growing from strength to strength,” he added.
To recall, there have been talks of the opposition forming a united front, that, however, have produced rumors that some of those who have declared their candidacies will be giving up their presidential bids.Recently, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso dismissed rumors that he will be sliding down to vice president for 2022. Domagoso will be running for president in 2022 under Aksyon Demokratiko with health advocate and 2019 senatorial candidate Dr. Willie Ong.
