The country on Saturday logged 9,578 recoveries from Covid-19, which is higher than the 5,807 new cases recorded.
Also, the country’s Covid-19 reproduction number has dropped to 0.52 and the seven-day average has gone down to 5,451, according to Dr. Guido David, a fellow at the OCTA Research, in a Twitter post on Saturday.
With the 5,807 new Covid-19 cases, the country’s total caseload has risen to 2.752 million, while the total number of recoveries now stands at 2.647 million while active cases stood at 63,051.
Of the total number of active Covid-19 cases, 84.2 percent are mild or have no symptoms.
The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 65 new Covid-19 deaths bringing the country’s death toll to 41,585.
Compared to Friday’s recovery figures of 5,823, Saturday’s 9,578 was a vast improvement. Also, the 5,807 new Covid-19 cases is still considered low compared to months ago.
Meanwhile, OCTA Research reported that the Covid-19 reproduction number nationwide has dropped to 0.52 and the seven-day average has dropped to 5,451.
OCTA Research said the previous reproduction rate in the country was 0.68 and seven-day average was 9,648.
With the downtrend in nationwide Covid-19 cases, the government plans to accelerate the country’s Covid-19 vaccination drive as more doses arrive in the Philippines from various global suppliers.
