“The positivity rate [which measures the proportion of people who test positive using RT-PCR] in the NCR decreased to 5 percent for the first time since July 14, 2021. A positivity rate of 5 percent or less is an acceptable positivity rate according to WHO [World Health Organization],” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said over Twitter.

“Based on our guidelines, the NCR now has a low positivity rate, a low reproduction number (0.55), a low healthcare utilization rate (less than 60 percent), and a moderate ADAR [average daily attack rate] of 6.75 per day per 100,000,” he added.

OCTA Research’s disclosure came as Metro Manila’s alert level has been maintained at “3” until November 14.

Also, the number of new Covid-19 cases nationwide has been hovering around 4,000 and in some instances are lesser than recoveries from the virus.
