Sara Duterte thus substitutes Lakas-CMD’s Lyle Uy as the party’s vice presidential bet for 2022.

The development came days after Duterte abandoned her bid for a second term as Davao City Mayor and her joining the Lakas-CMD headed by House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.

He earlier said Sara Duterte and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. were discussing on “working together” for the 2022 polls.

“I think the discussions between the two have been along those lines. We are thinking very positively about this,” he added.

Sara Duterte’s move on Saturday finally ended all speculations on what position she will be seeking in 2022, as her supporters were clamoring for her to run for president.

However, there were also speculations that Sara Duterte will eventually become the running mate of Marcos, who is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

The idea of a term-sharing agreement between the two if the proposed tandem will win was also floated, but was easily shot down by Marcos who said that is unconstitutional.
