The latest survey of Publicus Asia for the 2022 polls for presidential and vice presidential candidates shows former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as having a commanding leads over other contenders for the top posts in the country.
Marcos had a preference rate of 56.7 percent for president among 1,500 respondents, while Sara Duterte got 54.4-percent preferential rating for vice president.
Publicus Asia said that Marcos enjoys commanding leads almost nationwide.
“Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr (BBM) holds commanding leads across all regional groups. His lead is widest in NCL (Northern and Central Luzon) and MIN (Mindanao). It is narrowest in NCR (National Capital Region) and SL (Southern Luzon) – where Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is polling above the 20-percent mark,” it added.
Among other presidential bets, Robredo was second with 15.4 percent, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso with 6.9 percent, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go with 4.1 percent, Senator Emannuel “Manny” Pacquiao with 3 percent, and Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson with 2.9 percent. Meanwhile, 8.8 percent of those polled were undecided on their choice for president in 2022.
Sara Duterte led presidential contenders. Surprisingly, 13.4 percent said they were undecided on their choice for vice president, while Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd got 10.1 percent, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan got 9 percent, Willie Ong 8.9 percent, and Buhay party-list Rep. Joselito Atienza 1.3 percent.
