Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard bearer and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos has tested negative for illegal drug use.
Marcos told a national daily that he had himself tested in a hospital for drug use, which was promoted by the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte alleging a certain presidential candidate from a wealthy family was into cocaine.
“Pagkatapos ng salita ni Pangulo, eh di lahat tayo magpa-drug test. Eh di inunahan ko na (After the President made a statement, then that means let us all have a drug test. And I decided to be the first one to do that),” he said.
Marcos said he would give the test results of his drug test to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
It was last November 16 that Duterte claimed that there is a presidential candidate for the 2022 polls who is a cocaine user.
Duterte made the revelation in a speech delivered in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, as he reiterated his vow to fight illegal drugs.
Duterte did not name the presidential aspirant but hinted that the candidate for the country’s top post is a male.
He also implied that the presidential hopeful with a “very weak” character has many supporters.
“I will not make it clear now. There’s even a presidential candidate na nag-cocaine (who used cocaine),” Duterte has said.
