Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, topped the latest survey of PUBLICUS Asia, with the presidential aspirant known as BBM getting 52.27-percent voter preference among the 1,500 respondents.

PUBLICUS Asia’s National Election Tracker Survey of Publicus Asia was conducted from February 11 to 16.

Among the vice presidential bets, Sara Duterte topped the survey with a 53.53-percent voter preference.

Marcos’ 52.23-percent rating gives him a 30-percentage point lead over second-placer Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo. The vice president improved her voter preference by 2 percent to get 22.23 percent.

Coming in a third is Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso with 8.87 percent and was followed by Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson with 3.27 percent and Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao with 2.67 percent, Labor leader Leodegario “Ka Leody” de Guzman with 0.67 percent.

Meanwhile. 8.87 percent did not have any preference or were undecided on their choice for president.

For the vice-presidential race, Sara Duterte topped the other contenders with 53.53 percent while Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Robredo’s running mate, got 14.67 percent. Dr. Willie Ong placed third with 12.60 percent, a 2-percent increase, while Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd dropped by 2 percent to end up with 9.2 percent. Pacquiao’s running mate, Buhay party-list Rep. Jose “Lito” Atienza, got 1.27 percent.

Some 8.6 percent of the respondents did not have a choice for vice president.

The latest survey of PUBLICUS Asia is reflective of the recent surveys conducted by the Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia, which also both show Marcos and Sara Duterte leading over their rivals for the May 9 polls.
