Survey-leading presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. now enjoys the support of at least 90 percent, or 73 of the 81 governors in the country.
Over the weekend, 16 governors visited Marcos’ headquarters in Mandaluyong City to express their support for the former senator.
“I don’t see any unprecedented event that can hamper the victory of Bongbong,” said Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez.
Earlier, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor and League of Municipalities of the Philippines president Luis “Chavit” Singson, that said 90 percent of the governors support Marcos and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, dubbed as the UniTeam.
Isabela Gov. Rodolfo “Rodito” Albano 3rd also said that support for Marcos is so strong that there is no need for him to campaign in the province.
The other governors who have expressed their support for the UniTeam are Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua of Quirino; Susan Yap of Tarlac; Jose Riano of Romblon; Florencio Miraflores of Aklan; Philip Tan of Misamis Occidental; Eduardo Gadiano of Mindoro Occidental; Alexander Pimentel of Surigao del Sur; Bonifacio Lacwasan of Mountain Province; and Suharto Mangudadatu of Sultan Kudarat.
Marcos getting the support of 73 of the 81 governors is bolstered by the Kalye Survey conducted by Splat Communications since October last year, which showed the survey-leading candidate getting majority of votes in 60 of the 67 provinces polled.
The Kalye Survey covered at least 135,000 respondents nationwide, and Splat Communications said they are ready to prove the authenticity of their survey and prove that it is not fake news.
